I'm not sure if I have mentioned it before, but I LOVE the neighborhood we live in. One of the best things about it is the truly amazing number of parks and playgrounds around. It is an extremely family-friendly and kid-centric area to live (if you have ever had to navigate these sidewalks all the while dodging Bugaboos, Kettrikes, and lines of pre-schoolers all holding a rope you will know what I mean). We currently have 4 playgrounds that we take Henry to on a regular, rotating basis (all a 15 minute walk at most) and today we added number 5. It may be our new favorite - Henry had a ball.
The park has a very nice rose garden, and it seems that Henry may be a budding botanist. He LOVED the roses - he walked around them for a good 30 minutes, and at times would hold the fence, stare at the roses, and then begin laughing.
He also enjoyed the play equipment. Henry has recently learned to walk up stairs (as long as they are not too high and there is also a banister low enough for him to hold onto and help pull himself), so he was pleased to find some play equipment just the right size to practice on. No more crawling up the stairs! Now he just needs to learn to walk DOWN.
