Marathon Monday

It's Patriots Day here in Boston, which means one thing - Marathon Monday!! This year was really exciting because our friends Kiera and Jim (Kate and Ben's parents) were running their first marathon, and we were able to go out and watch them go by.

Since it is a holiday, the kids were home from school. Jake came over in the morning to hang out:

We watched the elite runners cross the finish line on TV:

And Jake and Henry were very busy making posters to cheer Kiera and Jim on:

Then, we headed down to Beacon Street to meet up with Lila and Alexander. We are about 3 miles from the finish and had been tracking Kiera and Jim online, so we had a good idea of when they would come by:

There goes Jim!:

And Kiera!!!:

They both rocked it - Jim in 3:44:02 and Kiera in 4:07:37 - they both put it an incredible amount of work and training, and it was wonderful to be able to see them run by. Congrats!
