Farmland Fun

Aunt Gina came to visit this weekend, so we packed a few days of super fun activities in: there was some serious sidewalk board game playing:

Trips to the playground across the street:

Archery lessons in the front yard:

And, most importantly a trip to Davis Farmland!!!

As always, the kids LOVED IT. They fed and held goats:

Brushed a pony:

Met baby pigs:

Watched mice and met baby chicks:

Went on a hay ride:

(Mike was caught napping next to a goat):

Elliot went on his first pony ride! (actually, two - his first pony got stubborn partway around and refused to keep moving, so they had to swap him onto a new one. E took it in stride)

Took many trips down the giant slide:

Enjoyed the multiple play areas:

And ended the day with ice cream:

Public Gardens

Henry has two weeks off from camp before school starts up again, so we are spending our days at playgrounds, seeing friends, and enjoying the last bit of summer. Today we joined Henry's friend Julian for our annual summer trip to ride the Swan Boats in the Public Garden. Getting two 7 year old boys to take a picture usually ends up with results like this:

Elliot loved the boat and was enthralled by the turtles he spotted:

Afterwards we headed across the street to the Common for a quick trip to the Frog Pond playground and a ride on the carousel:

And then of course a stop at Make Way for Ducklings on the walk back to the train:

Sculpture Garden

G Pa is in town visiting this weekend, so we took a trip out to the deCordova Sculpture Museum and Garden. It had been a few years since we have gone so we got to see a lot of new sculptures. Other than an unfortunate wasp stinging incident with Henry the kids had a great time!
