I am woefully behind on updates. I know, I know. So, to ease my guilt here is quick re-cap of what has been going on here:
HENRY:
School ended for Henry at the very end of June. We had a week off for the 4th, then our week in Vermont, then Henry had two weeks at "Camp Kangaroo" (the day camp run by our town's recreation department). It was Henry's first experience with summer camp, and he loved it! Camp was pretty basic - daily swimming and water play (good thing because his first week we had a major heat wave where the temperatures felt as high as 108 degrees - and the building he was in had no A/C!), art, music, "theme" days, etc etc. A lot of his friends from school and his weekly playgroup attended the same camp, so he had a pretty easy transition and was sad when camp ended last Friday. He starts a new, 2 week camp session at a different day camp next Monday. This one he is nervous about because he has to take a bus, so I can't go with him to drop him off. Luckily his friend Jake is going with him and will be on the same bus, so hopefully all will go smoothly!
Other than camp we have had a lot of park play dates (when it hasn't been 100 degrees OR raining - sadly few days fit this criteria) and so much ice cream that I feel kind of sick thinking about it. Henry was very excited this last weekend when he and I repainted his room (he wanted a more grown up blue) and rearranged things to fit his brand new desk. Painting a room with a 6 year old is an interesting endeavor. He enjoyed it immensely. I spent a lot of time cleaning paint off things.
ELLIOT:
Oh, Elliot. This has been the month of teething. Elliot has so many wonderful, lovely qualities. Teething is NOT one of them. Oh my, the drama. And they are slooooooooooow. Oh, so painfully, painfully slow. We have the top and bottom middle 4 all fully in, and one molar. The second lower molar is just barely poking through. The molars are the worst, causing things like a 25 minute, stage 5 tantrum over getting his diaper changed, or flingig himself on the floor and beating his fists on the ground furiously when he is unable to correctly attach his magnetized train cars together. We won't mention naps.
Only a few new words..."Quack" for duck, and "choo choo". He also makes the wailing sound of a siren when he sees a fire truck, which is cute. He is now a regular at my gym daycare, but is not a big fan. As soon as we enter the gym he begins crying and yelling "no, no!", but once as he gets set up with some toys in the playroom he is usually ok.
He had his 15 month pediatrician appointment the other week. She kept commenting on how good natured he is (he saves the drama for home) and all is good health wise. He is still around 30th percentile for weight but shot up to 70th percentile for height (his head is still a gigantic 90 something percentile). She thinks he may have been measured wrong, but he is definitely catching up in height. Finally catching up with his tall brother!
And, here are some out of order pictures from the last month:

Elliot had his passport picture taken and it cracks me up:
His new favorite "skill" is sitting appropriately in chairs. He won't play on the ground anymore:
