Double Trouble Party

It was a big day for Elliot!

His birthday this year fell on a beautiful Saturday - the first nice day we have had all spring. Traditionally we have gifts out for the kids for them to open as soon as they wake up on their birthday, but due to Elliot's early birdness, and the fact that Mike and I jealously guard the sleep in days that we alternate on weekends, this year we opted to put out gifts during his first nap.

His fancy new ride:

Spotting his gifts:

Henry helping him open his big brother gift (the most annoying toy ever. Oh well):

And demonstrating the car:

Then this afternoon was his birthday party!

As we know, baby Ben (little brother of Henry's best friend Jake) was born exactly one week before Elliot. Due to the friendship between the families, Ben and Elliot are basically forced into being best friends. That plus the fact that we would all be basically inviting the same people to their birthday parties meant a joint first birthday party was the only way to go for our little guys. Since we had a lot of older kids coming as well as babies, we figured that (yet again) the mecca of kids' birthday parties - My Gym - was once again in order.

The birthday boys!

Elliot, ready to get the party started:

Elliot was a little intimidated by the activity at times, but overall had a great time!

The birthday parade!

Unlike Henry at his first birthday, Elliot LOVED his cupcake. Although after a while he started putting pieces of it into his party hat:

And then we finished things off with a baby zip line:

It was a great time.

After we got home, cleaned up, and Elliot finally in bed I realized "oh. Its Easter tomorrow!" So, Henry got to cap off a very full day by coloring Easter eggs:
