Avon Walk - Boston

I just finished up one of my favorite weekends of the year - the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer! This year, I wanted to do more than one event, so while I will be walking 39.3 miles and fundraising $1800 for the Avon Walk in Santa Barbara this upcoming September, this past weekend in Boston I was working as Crew. Crew are the full weekend volunteers that man the Walk - we are there from sun up (literally) on Saturday through Closing Ceremonies on Sunday. Crew does everything from transporting all gear and tents, to serving all the meals, to running operations at the Wellness Village. I was lucky enough to be a team leader for a Rest Stop - which is an AWESOME job. We get to see all of our Walkers out on the route - proving water, Gatorade, ice, food, medical support, and inspiration to the 3000 Walkers that come through. My friend Robin joined me on the team, which was fabulous.
