Well, I was really impressed that Henry made it all the way to November without getting sick this year (I think the last time he was really sick was in June), but it looks like our record well-spell is ending. Henry woke up very suddenly last night with a terrible cough - I actually ran into his room because it sounded like he was choking on something. No fever, no congestion, but a little wheezy and an awful cough that just wouldn't stop. He kept crying and saying "I'm choking!" It was much worse when laying down, so Henry and I sat up together on the couch...for five hours. Yes, from 11:30 PM until 4:30 AM Henry and I were both wide awake. Poor guy.
He managed to sleep about 3 hours and then got up for the day. He seems OK - tired, obviously. He is coughing a bit here and there but since he isn't lying down it isn't very bad. The pediatrician was concerned that he was a bit wheezy sounding so I am bringing him in later today for a check up.
So, we need fingers crossed that:
- Henry is fine or at least has a short lived/minor illness (we fly on Wednesday and would really appreciate a healthy toddler on the plane)
- Henry somehow manages to get some sleep (especially considering his Dr. appointment is during nap time. Sigh)
- I make it through the day without falling over after the total 1 hour of sleep I got. Yes, 1 hour. That's what I get for staying up late to watch the "Project Runway" finale.
