We had a fun Saturday yesterday...after another early wake-up (I find it ironic now that I consider 7 AM to be sleeping REALLY late), the 3 of us headed downtown. Henry continued his tour of Boston restaurants and joined us at Legal Sea Foods. In the momentous news category - Henry had his first "kids menu" order! Yes, he had his very own meal - fish shaped cheese ravioli. He enjoyed it immensely and made quite a mess.
After lunch we all headed over to the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer "Great Start Party" - the kick-off for the 2008 Walk. It was great to see a lot of my old friends and colleagues (although I admit it made me very nostalgic for my work days there). It also made me realize that I REALLY need to get my butt in gear and do some training. If I am going to be walking 40 miles in 4 months, training must be done (also, considering the 5 miles I did on the treadmill the other day nearly wiped me out....that may be the bigger sign that I need to get some training done!). Hopefully the weather will warm up soon so that Henry and I can enjoy some long training walks together.
Although my training isn't top-notch (yet!), my fundraising is going well for the Avon Walk. As of today I am at $1,190! That puts me at 66% of my minimum fundraising requirement.
If you haven't checked out my Avon Walk web page, please take a look!
Here is a picture of me, Henry, and my "Walker Buddy" Lauren at the Avon party yesterday - Lauren took over my position at the Walk last year. Henry was a little overwhelmed by the activity around him and thus not looking at the camera.
So far today has been a semi-lazy Sunday. Poor Mike is still sick with the cold I gave him, so he enjoyed a bit of a sleep in. After he woke up, I took a 2 hour nap. So far, the 3 of us all are still in our PJs - and I have a feeling it will stay that way.
It has been confirmed that Henry IS getting some teeth - we can now see the little suckers. He has his two middle bottom teeth and should be getting his top 2 middle teeth next, but is actually getting the two to the sides of the top middle. So, he will look like a cute little vampire for a while :)
