On to 3rd Grade!!!
The school year FINALLY ended today! (thanks, snow days) Last day of Second Grade for Henry!
He had a great year - he transitioned easily to his new school, made great friend and fit in the community right away, worked really hard on his reading all year, showed off his super star math skills. played xylophone in the winter concert, was in Lego Club and after school science class, played on the soccer team in the fall and spring, built a Hopi village, learned Spanish, wrote a biography of Ben Franklin, and, as his teacher said to me in his mid year conference "was a perfect example of what a second grade boy should be"
The last day is always a noon dismissal, and we celebrated the end of school with pizza and posicles on the playground with his friends:
Not much of a break, sadly, because with the late ending of school he heads right into camp on Monday. Elliot stays at his current preschool until August and then makes the BIG switch to Runkle. He is nervous, but I'm excited about the kids finally being at the same school.
On to summer!

Beach and Soccer
It was a busy day - with a rainy Fathers Day in the forecast we decided to head to to the beach for an early Fathers Day celebration, then had to hurry back to Brookline for Henry's last soccer game of the season! He had a great time on his team this year and really stepped up his efforts and skills - we are so proud of him!
(and happy early Fathers Day to Mike!!!)

Visit from Old Friends
We were very lucky that our good friend's the Gustafsons were able to stop by for a quick visit from California on their way to New York. Henry and Elliot loved having other kids in the house to play with! On Thursday (while poor Henry was still in school) we headed down to the Public Garden for a trip on the Swan Boats and a visit to the Make Way for Ducklings Statue.
We had a great visit and hope to see you again soon!

Preschool Picnic
Tonight was Elliot's annual preschool picnic and magic show. He seemed totally confused by the magic, but loved it regardless.
