Children's Museum
We took a quick trip to the Children's Museum this morning, the highlight of which was Henry going through the climbing structure all by himself (we had an "incident" a little over a year ago where he got scared and stuck in the middle and I had to rescue him - lets just say this structure is NOT built for an adult to fit in. I was scarred by the experience of wedging myself through and wouldn't let him back in until today). He loved it, and of course was totally fine going all the way up and down on his own:
After about 10 trips through we did move on to other activties including the construction room:
The golf ball room:

A Day in the Life of Henry
For some reason today was one of those days in which I took a lot of pictures of random things Henry was doing....
He started off at breakfast discovering the true joy of eating raspberries - putting them on your fingers:
Then, he decided to play in his tunnel for a while. He was pretending that he was a caterpillar. For some reason this involved shoving many stuffed animals and pillows into the tunnel with him, and then insisting we seal off either end with "doors" while he lay inside for a while:
He liked his tunnel so much that he later decided to watch a TV show from its confines:
He is very into fairy tales lately, and one of his favorites is "The Gingerbread Man". Because of this, he decided he NEEDED to make a gingerbread man today. Because Mike and I are suckers, we agreed:
(the Gingerbread was unable to escape before being consumed)
Finally, he capped off the day by building many sculptures while in the tub:

The Cruelest Month
Yes, that is supposed to be April, but I think March is definitely worse. There is so much hope that spring is arriving...daylight savings starts and the days get longer, the first day of calendar spring arrives, you see crocuses starting to pop out next to the snowbanks....Then March kicks you with a day like today and you realize that your visions of park playdates and barbecues are still a loooong way off.
It was freezing today. Although we have had some decent melting over the past few weeks, there is still a solid sheet of ice over all yards, playgrounds, and some sidewalks. The snow banks still make the sidewalks narrow and difficult to navigate.
We had Henry's gym class today. It is a little over a mile away, so it was way too cold for Henry to walk it on his own. This is how he spent the ride over:
Once there he got to run around to his heart's content and burn off some of his cooped up winter energy:
