We don't throw babies!

Henry and Mike were playing "basketball" this evening (the basket is a nest of cushions on the couch) when suddenly Henry put his ball under his shirt and began walking around talking about the "baby in his belly". He then would yell at Mike everytime Mike threw his basketball, telling him "We don't throw babies!!!"

It was hysterical.

Hardy New Englanders

You know that winter has been going on for a while when you find yourself saying "Hey! It is in the high 30s and doesn't get dark until 5:30! Let's go to the park!"

Spring can't come soon enough....

Birthday season begins

We are entering the crazy time of year known as "BIRTHDAY PARTY SEASON"! Most of Henry's friends have birthdays in the next few months, so there will be a lot of cake eating in our near future.

Yesterday, we celebrated Henry's friend Meredith's 3rd birthday with a party at a local swimming pool. Mike unfortunately was on a conference call in the car during the entire actual swimming portion of the party, and since I was in the water with Henry this is the only picture we have:

Rest assured that Henry LOVED the pool. It was quite a challenge to get him out when the time came, so it looks like we need to break down and finally sign him up for swim lessons.

Meredith had an impressive cake:

Which Henry thoroughly enjoyed:

This morning we went with Henry's friend Jake to the Children's Museum.

Henry checked out the new Curious George exhibit:

Worked on his golf swing:

Posed with Jake and George:

Worked in a grocery store:

Was engrossed by a crane:

Drove a Bobcat:

And did some construction work:

Back to Boston/Happy Valentine's Day

We arrived back in Boston on Friday night, and to make sure there is no doubt that we aren't in Florida anymore Henry and I spent an hour or so shoveling snow this afternoon (a process no longer as enjoyable since Mike taught Henry how to throw snowballs at me - he has freakishly good aim).

Henry was a trooper on the flight, as usual. We were delayed for a while in the West Palm Beach airport, and happened to be sitting by the crew for our flight (also waiting for our delayed plane). Henry was such a charmer - calling out gate numbers, naming all the pieces of equipment as they went by the window, "reading" his books out loud to people, going to strangers and saying "I'm going to Boston but it is FAR AWAY!", and putting on an impressive jumping jacks presentation - that the entire crew befriended him and once we boarded the plane Henry got a special cockpit tour and meet and greet with the pilots. He is such a ham.

We don't have a lot of pictures from the past few days, but here is a video of Henry "reading":

(note the chaos in the room - he managed to do all of that in a 10 minute period)

Henry gave us a lovely Valentine's Day gift by WILLINGLY EATING ASPARAGUS*! And a few pieces at that! We took a photo as evidence:

*We would like to thank the show "Dinosaur Train" and specifically its "Hungry Hungry Herbivore" song for making this moment possible. All we need to do now is ask Henry if he wants to eat like Ned the Brachiasaurus, and greens are consumed!

Florida Part 2

Henry and I are still here in Florida, and having a great time!

We have spent some time at the beach:

Went to the zoo (where any type of bird was Henry's favorite animal):

Pushed some boulders:

Met a shark:

Sat in a giant bee:

Climbed some towers:

Rode on a loggerhead turtle:

Talked to dad on the phone:

And played some ball:

And we have another week left!
