We are finally (almost) unpacked, and have been receiving requests for photos. Thanks for the patience, and here is the house tour!
Front:
(and at night!)
Back yard:
We have grapes!
Back stairs. To the right is the garage (green door leads into it, deck is above the garage). To the left is the pass through to the driveway, with a door on the left that goes into the basement. A door into the kitchen/mudroom is at the switchback on the deck stairs)
Deck:
Going in the front door:
(we obviously still need to hang some pictures!)
To the left of the front door are the living room and sunroom (being used as an office and homework station)
To the right of the front door is the dining room:
Behind the dining room is the kitchen (we are going to re-do this in the next year or so):
Going downstairs to the basement....the basement is fully finished and has 4 rooms: the storage/art room, the currently empty room that will be a home gym, the utility room, and the playroom. We will be re-carpeting ASAP, and I think once the dark grey is gone it will look a lot brighter.
The storage room. We decided that since this room already had a utility sink and wasn't carpeted like the rest of the basement it would be a great arts and crafts room for the kids (surrounded by storage boxes and rolls of toilet paper, of course)
Hallway leading to playroom (the doors are to a storage closet):
Playroom! The stage is original to the house. When the house was fully re-done about 15 years ago they found theater seating from around the '20s that had to be ripped out. So apparently, many performances were put on down here:
Now going up to the 2nd floor. The master suite. The "dressing room" (attached to the master bedroom) when we moved in was just two small built in closets. We had the entire room made into one larger closet:
Master bedroom and bathroom:
Guest Room:
(There is another bedroom on the 2nd floor that is currently awaiting a final decision on what to do with it...)
Moving up to the 3rd floor/boy's rooms:
Elliot's bedroom (we really need to get that tiger stripe window cushion re-covered!)
Boy's bathroom:
Henry's room (this is as clean as it gets):
That's it for now!

Last Day of Camp
Today was Henry's last day at Camp Grossman! He had a great time - did fishing, archery, boating, swimming, and all sorts of other activities. We will definitely be back next year!

Legos!
They opened a Legoland Discovery Center by us a few months ago, and it has been a highly anticipated trip since. As we know, Henry has quite the passion for Legos (in fact, before his birthday this year when I was pressing him to give gift suggestions OTHER than Legos to friends/family, he stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and dramatically proclaimed "But Mom, LEGOS ARE MY LIFE!" This weekend we finally had a chance to visit the Discovery Center for his friend Ryan's birthday party.
The excitement was underway even in the waiting area:
The kids started out in the party room where they all made some Lego dragons before cake and pizza:
Then they moved on to watch a short movie on how Legos are made, and practice making their own minifigures:
Then the kids were let loose into the insanity. There were a few small rides, a bunch of Lego building stations (where you could build and race your own car, build a skyscraper and test its strength on a vibrating board, etc), and of course Lego Boston:
Our wedding location built in Legos:
It was incredibly fun for Henry, so I'm sure we will be back soon!

Colorado
This year's Rohde/Powell/Cary family reunion was held in Breckenridge, Colorado. We had a great time, although Elliot did very poorly with the time change and was thus an exhausted mess the majority of the time. Breckenridge was beautiful - alas, we lost our camera battery charger in the move and our battery was almost kaput, so I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I would have liked...
The gondola we could take from the resort into town was a highlight for the kids. Henry and cousin Evan:
On a hike with all the cousins:
Out for donuts:
The water guns at the indoor pool were a big hit for Elliot:
Henry got to pan for gold, and go down the alpine slide and coaster multiple times:
It was a great trip. and so nice to get together with everyone!
